Summer Adventures in Chi-Town

In June, Mr. Wright and I made a visit to Chicago.  We had never been there before so we wanted to all of the touristy things and of course, check of some of the many amazing restaurants!

Our first stop and one of my favorite's was Siena Tavern.  We have a friend who works there and it was conveniently located right across the street from our hotel!

It is owned by Top Chef restaurateur Fabio Viviani and is an Italian experience like no other.  The menu is classic itailian (some of the recipes are from Fabio's mom and grandmothers) with a modern twist.  The pizza was amazing.  The meatball was out of this world.  Yes, just a single meatball - because it is a 12 oz. meatball!

We also had a few cocktails at Three Dots and a Dash, a super cool tiki bar in the heart of downtown Chicago.

Once inside, you feel like you are transported to a tropical oasis.  The drinks are fun, fruity, and fierce!

Of course, I just had to try out Bill and Giuliana Rancic's new restaurant, RMP.  We couldn't get enough Italian and this place was also "amazeballs".

In between our eating adventures, we visited the many tourist attractions Chicago has to offer.  We road the ferris wheel on Navy Pier, visited the parks, biked along the lake, and (of course) shopped on Michigan Ave.

The last couple of days were spent with some friends in Lincoln Park.  The Pirates happen to be in town playing against the Cubs.  (You will notice a theme to our travels, due in part to Mr. Wright's love for the Pirates).  We took in a game at Wrigley field with friends.

Our friend also had a little surprise up his sleeve when we looked up at the scoreboard and saw this!

What a great surprise!

We will definitely have to go back to Chicago very soon!  Next stop: Denver and Breckenridge Colorado!
